This evening primrose oil is pressed from the seeds of Oenothera biennis, a plant native to North America and now widely cultivated across China for oil production. It has a light golden colour, a mild nutty scent and a fine texture.
Spiritual meaning
Evening primrose takes its name from flowers that open fully at night and close again the following morning. The plant has a long history in Native American traditions, and the oil, rich in omega-6 fatty acids, is often blended into cosmetics for skin, scalp and hair care.
