Molten Glass Fancy Sweet Bowl on Wood

This bowl is shaped for serving sweets, trinkets or small confections, formed from hand-blown recycled glass melted onto a natural Gamal wood base in Bali. Its slightly more ornate profile sets it apart from the plainer bowls in the range, while the underlying process stays the same: hot glass settling permanently onto a wood root. The wood's own contour decides the final shape as the glass cools.

Symbolism

Balinese makers see a serving piece like this as bringing the same natural pairing, fire-shaped glass and slow-grown wood, into an everyday moment such as offering sweets to a guest. Many people value that kind of object precisely because it does double duty as decoration and as something genuinely used.
