This bowl takes its character from an intentionally irregular, hand-shaped rim, formed while the molten glass was still workable. Rather than a symmetrical curve, the glass follows its own uneven line before settling onto a Gamal wood base chosen to suit its shape. The result is a piece that reads as sculptural first and functional second.

Symbolism

In Balinese glass-and-wood craft, an irregular form like this is often valued precisely because it cannot be repeated: no template guided the shape, only the glass cooling in the moment. Many people see this kind of asymmetry as a reminder that natural materials rarely arrive in perfect, uniform shapes. Paired with its own hand-chosen wood base, this bowl is presented as a one-off centrepiece rather than one of a matching set.

How to use

  • Display as a stand-alone centrepiece on a shelf, table or windowsill.
  • Use for stones, dried botanicals or as an empty sculptural object.
  • Wipe the glass gently with a soft, damp cloth; keep the wood away from prolonged direct heat or damp.

Packed and dispatched from a European warehouse to twenty-five EU countries. Delivery is priced on the weight of the parcel and shown in full before you pay, and it is free above the threshold set for your country — from €19. No customs, no import charges, tracking by email. Thresholds by country.

Returns

Fourteen days from delivery to change your mind, for any reason, and you do not have to give us one. Send it back unused and in its packaging. If something arrives broken or is not what you ordered, we pay the return. How returns work.

Ask about this piece

Measurements, materials, how a thing is meant to be used, whether two pieces go together: ask and a person answers. Natural stone and hand-made work vary from piece to piece, so the photograph shows one example rather than the exact item. Write to us.
