Jojoba oil is pressed from the seeds of Simmondsia chinensis, a shrub native to the desert regions of North and Central America. It is also known by names such as goatnut and deernut in different traditions.
Properties
The oil has a golden colour and a slightly earthy scent, with a light texture that has a wax-like thickness. Jojoba oil is closely related in composition to the skin's own natural oils, which is why it is a long-standing favourite in skin and hair care.
