This wall hanging is handcrafted in Nepal from soft felt, with a row of elephant shapes in randomly assorted colours strung along approximately 110 cm. As each piece is cut and stitched by hand from felt, small variations in colour, shape and exact size are normal between pieces.
Symbolism
Across many cultures, from India to Thailand and parts of Africa, the elephant is traditionally associated with wisdom, strength and good fortune, and is a popular motif for a child's room or a playful gift.
How to use
Hang it on a nursery, playroom or bedroom wall; the felt is lightweight enough for a small hook or pin. It is made for display rather than play, and is not intended as a children's toy.
