This wooden puzzle box is carved as a beach crab. It is made from Saman wood and Sheesham wood, and measures 14 x 7 cm. Several pieces slide and pull apart in a set order to reach a small hidden compartment at the centre.
Symbolism
In coastal folklore, the crab is often linked to protection and to the steady pull of the tide.
How to use
- Work out the order to slide or pull the pieces apart
- Use the hidden compartment for a ring, a crystal chip or a small folded note
- Fit the pieces back together to close it again
