On a warm evening, a rich, tropical floral scent like ylang ylang can carry a small sense of holiday somewhere far away. This oil is steam distilled from the flowers of Cananga odorata and collected as the first fraction of the distillation, known as Grade I, generally considered the most floral and refined.
Symbolism
In parts of Indonesia, ylang ylang flowers are traditionally scattered on the beds of newly married couples, and the oil carries that same association with celebration and sensuality. Its scent is sweet, heady and distinctly tropical.
How to use
