Wintergreen Essential Oil 10ml
After a workout, a drop of Wintergreen Essential Oil in the diffuser brings a sweet, minty, instantly refreshing scent into the room, closer to old-fashioned mint sweets than to a floral or woody oil. It is steam distilled from the leaves of a creeping wintergreen shrub sourced from China, and its scent comes largely from methyl salicylate, a compound wintergreen shares with birch oil.
Energetic properties
Wintergreen's crisp, minty note is traditionally associated in aromatherapy with alertness and a sense of freshness, similar to the effect of a cool, clear day. Many people diffuse it after exercise or during a change of season, simply for the bracing quality of the scent.
How to use
- Add 2-3 drops to a diffuser for a fresh, minty scent.
- Dilute well in a carrier oil before any skin contact, and patch test first.
