Symbolism
Teak, or Tectona grandis, is native to Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar, and is traditionally valued in kitchens for the natural oils that help it resist water, decay and insect damage over time.
How to use
- Wash by hand with warm water and mild soap
- Dry standing up rather than flat
- Occasionally treat with food-safe mineral oil to keep the wood conditioned
