Left undyed, this set of four coasters is woven from natural seagrass fibre with a fringed edge. Each one measures 15 x 11 cm, a small woven base for a cup, glass or votive candle.
Symbolism
Unbleached, plant-based materials are often connected in home traditions to the earth element and to simplicity. Keeping the seagrass in its own raw tone, rather than dyeing it, is for some a way of bringing something unaltered to the table, a set of four quiet, natural bases scattered wherever they are needed.
