- Light the end of the stick, let it flame briefly, then blow it out.
- Rest it in a heat-resistant holder that can catch the ash as it burns.
- Choose a well-ventilated spot, clear of curtains, paper and other flammable items.
- Keep it within sight while it burns, and away from children and pets.
