As the cold season sets in and rooms start to feel a little stale, red thyme is one of the more robust herbal oils people bring out. Steam-distilled from thyme leaves grown in Spain, it has a warm, sharp, herbaceous smell, stronger and more medicinal-leaning than milder herb oils.
Energetic properties
Thyme has a long history in European herbal and household tradition, burned or strewn for its strong, cleansing scent well before it became a kitchen staple. In aromatherapy tradition it is associated with strength and protection, though its intensity means it is best used sparingly within a blend.
How to use
