After a demanding week, ravensara is one of the calmer, less common oils people bring out to mark a slower pace. Steam-distilled from the leaves of Ravensara aromatica in Madagascar, it has a fresh, slightly spicy, eucalyptus-like smell unique to the island.
Energetic properties
Ravensara has a long history in Malagasy tradition, its name meaning roughly "good leaf" in the local language. In aromatherapy tradition it is associated with restoration and a settled mind, and it blends well with other fresh, green oils such as eucalyptus or tea tree.
How to use
- Add a few drops to a diffuser during quiet, restorative time
- Dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin, and patch test first
- Not for internal use
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
