The Konjac Heart Sponge in Rose is a small facial and body cleansing sponge shaped like a heart, made from the vegetable fibres of the konjac root and tinted a soft rose shade. It softens on contact with water, becoming gentle enough for regular use on the face.
Symbolism
Konjac sponges originate in Japan, where they were traditionally used as a bath sponge for newborn babies because of their very soft texture, long before they became popular more widely across Asia and Europe as a facial and body accessory. The heart shape is a modern addition to that tradition, aimed at making a daily cleansing step feel a little more playful.
Care
- Soak the sponge in warm water until it softens completely.
- Squeeze gently, then use in small circles over the face or body.
- Rinse well after use and hang to dry in a ventilated spot.
- Replace every six to eight weeks, or sooner if the sponge starts to break down.
