This candle holder is made from natural grey Himalayan rock salt, a tone caused by a higher iron, sulphur and magnesium content rather than any added colour. It is sold by approximate weight, between 600 and 800 g, and holds a standard tealight in its hollowed centre.
Symbolism
Salt has long been used across cultures as a symbol of protection and purification in the home, and the grey tone here gives a softer, more subdued light than pink or white salt when a tealight is lit inside. In crystal lore, Himalayan salt is also traditionally associated with a calm, grounded atmosphere.
