Handmade in Nepal from soft felt, this wall hanging strings together a row of red-and-white mushroom shapes along approximately 110 cm. As each piece is cut and stitched by hand from felt, small variations in colour, shape and exact size are normal between pieces.
Symbolism
The red-and-white toadstool is one of the best-known images in woodland folklore, traditionally pictured alongside fairies and gnomes and, in several European traditions, regarded as a small emblem of good luck.
How to use
Hang it on a wall in a nursery, playroom or reading corner for a woodland touch; the felt is light enough for a small hook or pin. It is made for display rather than play, and is not intended as a children's toy.
