A small lidded box in mango wood, 9 x 5 x 4 cm, with carved decoration on the outside. Sold singly. Pills, rings, chips of stone, folded notes: it holds whatever is small enough to lose.
Symbolism
Mango wood comes from trees that have finished their fruiting years. In India the mango tree is a long-standing emblem of abundance and hospitality, and its leaves are strung above doorways at weddings and festivals.
