A fish shape carved in a soft bluewash finish sits above a cascade of natural, undyed capiz shell discs in this wind chime. Driftwood, raffia cord and pinewood beads complete the construction, handmade in Indonesia and sized at approximately 35 x 28 cm.
Symbolism
Fish motifs appear often in coastal and garden decor as a symbol of movement and abundance, while the natural, undyed shell keeps the piece close to its raw materials rather than dyed or painted. Many people also hang wind chimes near doors and windows in the belief that the sound helps disperse negative energy from a space.
