For slower evenings, Rydal Oudh brings a deep, contemplative mood into the room. Inspired by the ancient woodland and mossy stone walls around Rydal, home to William Wordsworth, it opens with soft bergamot and orange, moves into powdery violet and rose, and settles into a rich base of patchouli and sandalwood.

Symbolism

Woody, resinous scents like patchouli and sandalwood are traditionally linked to grounding and introspection, often chosen for evening rituals or moments of quiet reflection.

How to use

  • Trim the wooden wick before each lighting for a steady burn
  • Burn on a level, heat resistant surface and let the wax pool reach the edge on first use
  • Never leave a lit candle unattended and keep away from draughts, children and pets
  • Allow to cool completely before moving or relighting
