Energetic properties
The torch shape simply means the leaves are bound more densely than in a slim bundle, so it burns a little more slowly and produces more smoke for its size, while the tradition behind it is the same Indigenous North American practice of clearing a space with white sage.
How to use
- Hold the stick at an angle, light the tip, then blow out any flame so it smoulders rather than burns.
- Use a heatproof dish, shell or tray to catch any ash as you move through the space.
- Do not leave it burning unattended, and air the room out while it smoulders and afterwards.
