White sage, Salvia apiana, is the variety most closely tied to Indigenous North American tradition, historically burned to clear a space before prayer or ceremony. A mid-length bundle like this one suits a short walk through a flat or a small house.
How to use
- Angle the stick slightly as you light the tip, then blow out the flame so it smoulders steadily.
- Set it down in a heatproof dish between passes, and press the tip gently against it to stop the smoulder when you are done.
- Always burn it on a heat-resistant surface, never leave it unattended, and keep the room ventilated.
