In the evening, once the day's tasks are done, a drop of Vetivert Essential Oil in the diffuser brings a deep, earthy scent into the room, the kind used as a base note in many colognes. It is steam distilled from the roots of Vetiveria zizanioides grown on Java, a tall, clumping grass whose roots are dried before distillation.
Energetic properties
Vetivert is traditionally regarded in aromatherapy as one of the most grounding oils, often described as an anchor for lighter, brighter scents in a blend. Many people diffuse it in the evening, when a heavier, earthier atmosphere feels more fitting than a fresh or floral one.
How to use
- Add 2-3 drops to a diffuser, alone or blended with lighter oils.
- Dilute in a carrier oil before any skin contact, and patch test first.
- Do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
