Symbolism
Teak, known botanically as Tectona grandis, is native to Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar. Its natural oils are traditionally credited with helping the wood resist water, decay and insects, which has long made it a favoured choice for kitchen boards.

- Wash by hand with warm water and mild soap
- Dry standing up rather than flat
- Occasionally treat with food-safe mineral oil to keep the wood conditioned
