Recycled Driftwood Wide Bee and Insect House
Wider than the other insect houses in the range, this piece is built from recycled driftwood and measures 13 x 40 x 44 cm, giving it more surface area for the small gaps and hollows that shelter solitary bees and other beneficial insects. The reclaimed timber keeps its natural, weathered colouring rather than a uniform finish.
Symbolism
Many gardeners read bees and other pollinators as a sign of a healthy, well-balanced space, and a shelter built specifically for them is a small but meaningful nod to that tradition. Its wide format offers room for a greater variety of insects to find their own space within it.
How to use
- Position in a sheltered, sunny spot, ideally near flowering plants.
- Mount securely at a stable height, away from strong wind.
- Leave undisturbed once insects have moved in, checking only occasionally.

Ask about this piece
Measurements, materials, how a thing is meant to be used, whether two pieces go together: ask and a person answers. Natural stone and hand-made work vary from piece to piece, so the photograph shows one example rather than the exact item. Write to us.
