Symbolism
Cinnamon is the dried inner bark of trees in the Cinnamomum genus, carried along the spice routes for thousands of years. In folk traditions it is associated with warmth, prosperity and protection, which is why it keeps appearing in the blends people drink as the seasons turn.
How to use
- Use one heaped teaspoon of leaf per cup.
- Pour water just off the boil and let it steep for three to four minutes.
- Strain, then taste before adding milk or honey.
- Fold the bag closed after use and keep it away from heat, light and strong smells.
