Left in its natural, undyed tone, this coconut dragon mobile has a wingspan of approximately 37 cm and an overall hanging length of around 80 cm. It is handmade in Indonesia from natural coconut shell, piece by piece, by a family of artisans.
Symbolism
Dragons are widely seen across Asian folk traditions as protective, spirited figures rather than fearsome ones. Left in its natural, undecorated finish, this piece lets the texture and grain of the coconut shell take centre stage.
