Molten Glass Double Candle Holder on Wood

This double candle holder combines hand-blown recycled glass with a substantial natural Gamal wood base, made in Bali. Two glass wells sit side by side, shaped as the molten glass was melted directly onto the wood and left to settle. As with the rest of the range, the exact contour of the wood decides the final shape, so no two holders are quite the same.

Symbolism

Balinese craftspeople see paired forms like this, two glass wells on a single wood base, as a small statement of balance rather than repetition, since each well still follows its own patch of grain. Many people place pieces like this together with candlelight specifically for that quiet symmetry. Because the wood is never repeated exactly, this holder's grain and shape belong only to this piece.

• Use with two tealight or votive candles, placed on a heat-resistant, stable surface.
• Never leave a lit candle unattended, and keep the piece clear of curtains or other flammable materials.
