Standing 15 cm tall, this Hati-Hati Angel - Joy is hand-carved from Suar wood by artisans in rural Indonesian villages, then sun-dried, polished and painted individually, so no two pieces are quite identical.
Symbolism
The word 'hati-hati' is Indonesian for 'take care', and these angels are traditionally given as a caring, cultural gift. This figure carries the theme of joy, its cradled heart standing for lightness and shared happiness, a smaller companion to the Magic Box version of the same theme.
