Hand-carved from Suar wood, this Hati-Hati Angel - Guardian stands 15 cm tall and is shaped by artisans working in rural villages in Indonesia. Every figure is carved, sun-dried, polished and painted by hand, which means small natural variations from piece to piece are normal.
Symbolism
The Indonesian word 'hati-hati' means 'take care', and these figures are traditionally offered as a caring gesture towards whoever receives them. Guardian angels are a familiar motif across many traditions, generally associated with watching over and protecting those close to us.
