The largest figure in the waving money cat range, this piece stands with its left paw moving steadily back and forth, powered by AA or AAA batteries. At approximately 17 x 26 x 12 cm, its scale makes it a strong focal point on a sideboard, console table or shop counter.
Symbolism
This style of figure, known as maneki-neko or the beckoning cat, is traditionally associated in East Asian decor with inviting money, opportunity and good relationships. Its larger scale is often chosen to make more of a statement while keeping the same traditional symbolism as the smaller versions in the range.
How to use
- Fit one or two AA or AAA batteries (not included) to start the waving motion.
- The battery compartment has no cover and no on/off switch, so the paw waves continuously once batteries are fitted.
- Place on a stable, flat surface with enough space around it for the moving paw.
