This Botanical Facial Steam Blend combines dried lavender, rose, chamomile and calendula petals into a single mix designed to be added to hot water for a facial steam. The blend is left unblended with any added oils, keeping the petals as the main ingredient.
Facial steaming with dried flowers is a long-used, low-cost skincare habit, valued simply for the warm, humid air it creates against the skin before a normal cleansing or moisturising routine. Each of the four flowers used here has its own place in traditional herbal skincare, from lavender's calming reputation to calendula's long-standing use in soothing preparations.
How to use
- Add a small handful of the blend to a bowl of freshly boiled water
- Lean over the bowl with a towel draped over the head, keeping a safe distance from the water
- Steam for five to ten minutes, then pat the skin dry
