Seven small batik flags, each measuring around 32 x 23 cm, hang together on one string in this garland, illustrated with a different yoga pose on every panel. The design is hand-drawn in wax and dyed on rayon fabric using the traditional technique from Ubud, Bali.
Symbolism
Yoga postures are traditionally linked to balance, focus and the connection between body and breath, values at the heart of the practice for centuries. Displayed as a set of flags, the poses become a simple, decorative nod to that tradition.
