Spiritual meaning
Palo Santo, or Holy Wood, comes from a wild tree native to the dry forests of Ecuador and other parts of the Americas. For centuries indigenous shamans have used its wood, leaves, and oil in traditions of spiritual and bodily wellbeing. Today it is widely burned to mark a moment of intention, whether in ceremony or in quiet personal practice.
How to use
- Light the tip and let it flame briefly, then blow out so it smoulders
- Stand upright in a heatproof holder or ash-catching tray, keeping ash on a fireproof surface
- Ventilate the room and never leave burning incense unattended
- Keep away from children and pets
