This wine holder takes the form of a gecko, carved from a single piece of Suar wood in Indonesia. Its curved, lizard-like body cradles a bottle along the spine, using the natural balance of the design rather than any fixings.
Symbolism
In many Pacific and South-East Asian traditions, the gecko is kept as a symbol of good fortune and protection for the home. Its adaptable, at-home-anywhere nature has also made it a popular emblem of resilience.
