Fuller's Earth is the mineral clay at the centre of this face mask from Agnes + Cat, a fine powder that forms a smooth paste once mixed with water. It is one of the more absorbent clays used in skincare, traditionally favoured for a deeper-feeling cleanse on oilier skin.

Mixing powdered clay with water is one of the oldest mask formats there is, long predating ready-mixed pastes in tubes or jars. Keeping the mask as a simple powder also means it can be mixed to whatever thickness suits, from a light layer to a heavier, longer-lasting one.

How to use

  • Mix a small amount of clay powder with water until smooth
  • Apply an even layer over clean, dry skin, avoiding the eyes
  • Leave until it begins to dry, then rinse off thoroughly with warm water
