On a cold morning, a drop of Spruce Essential Oil on a diffuser brings the smell of a winter forest into the room before you open the door to the day. Steam distilled from the needles and twigs of Tsuga canadensis in the United States, it has an earthy, resinous scent that stays close to the tree it comes from, without the sweetness of citrus oils or the warmth of spice blends.
Energetic properties
In aromatherapy, spruce and other conifer oils are traditionally associated with grounding and clear thinking, in the way a walk through a pine forest can feel steadying. Many people diffuse it during quiet, focused work, or simply to bring an outdoor, woodland atmosphere indoors during the colder months.
How to use
- Add 3-5 drops to a diffuser or oil burner for a woodland scent.
- Dilute in a carrier oil before any contact with skin, and always patch test first.
- Do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- If pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a doctor before use.
