Before an evening bath, a drop of Ylang Ylang I Essential Oil in the water or the diffuser fills the room with a rich, sweet floral scent, heavier and more tropical than most European flowers. It is steam distilled from the flowers of Cananga odorata, a large tree native to Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia, and grown here on the Comoros Islands.
Energetic properties
Ylang ylang is one of the most established oils in perfumery, prized for a floral note that is both sweet and slightly spicy. In aromatherapy it is traditionally associated with relaxation and a softer, more sensual atmosphere, and many people add it to an evening bath or a massage oil blend for exactly that reason.
How to use
- Add a few drops to a diffuser, or to a warm bath once dispersed in a little carrier oil or bath base.
- Dilute in a carrier oil before any other skin contact, and patch test first.
- Do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- If pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a doctor before use.
