Energetic properties
Lavandula angustifolia has been tucked into linen cupboards and hung above doorways across Europe for centuries, and its scent is traditionally associated with rest, gentleness and peaceful sleep. In folk practice, lavender was also carried for protection and calm during travel. Many people burn lavender incense during evening baths, restorative yoga or journalling, simply because the smell marks the end of the working day.
How to use
- Set the uncoated end of the stick into an incense holder or a bowl of sand.
- Light the tip, wait until it catches, then blow the flame out and let it smoulder.
- Burn only on a heat-resistant surface, away from bedding, curtains and paper.
- Ventilate the room while burning, and never leave a lit stick unattended, especially in a bedroom.
- Keep out of reach of children and animals; store the remaining sticks cool and dry.
