If your ritual or blending practice regularly calls for frankincense, this 0.5kg bulk bottle keeps you supplied without the expense of buying small vials repeatedly. It is well suited to anyone preparing their own incense oils, skincare blends, or diffuser mixes at home over a longer period.
Spiritual meaning and traditional use
Steam distilled from the resin of Boswellia carterii, also known as olibanum, frankincense has been burned as incense since antiquity and was traded alongside myrrh across the ancient world. The tree grows wild in the Middle East and East Africa, and the resin has long carried associations with sacredness and divinity, making the oil a favourite for meditation, cleansing rituals, and calming evening blends.
How to use
- Dilute in a carrier oil before any skin application, and patch test first
- Add a few drops to an oil burner or diffuser for a warm, resinous scent
- Blend into homemade skincare or massage preparations
- Do not ingest, and keep away from children and pets
- Check with a doctor before use during pregnancy
