Before locking up for the night, some people like to pass a lit smudge stick through the hallway and main rooms. This 15 cm dragon's blood bundle burns long enough for a slow walk through the home without needing to relight it.
Symbolism
The resin is traditionally associated with strength and protection in folk magic, and blended into sage it is generally used for a firmer, more deliberate clearing than sage on its own. A mid-length bundle like this one suits a full walk-through rather than a single room.
How to use
- Hold the stick at an angle, light the tip, then blow out any flame so it smoulders rather than burns.
- Use a heatproof dish, shell or tray to catch any ash as you move through the space.
- Do not leave it burning unattended, and air the room out while it smoulders and afterwards.
