A carved fish on a length of string hangs above shimmering blue capiz shell discs in this wind chime, built on a driftwood frame with raffia cord and pinewood beads. It is handmade in Indonesia and measures approximately 30 x 24 cm, with a hanging length of around 50-55 cm.
Symbolism
Fish are a common motif in coastal decor, often read as a symbol of movement and abundance, and the blue tone keeps this piece close to an ocean palette. As with other wind chimes, many people hang it near a door or window in the belief that its sound helps clear negative energy from a space.
How to use
- Hang in a sunny window, on a wall hook, or in a sheltered spot outdoors such as a porch or balcony.
- Avoid constant direct sun or heavy rain, since driftwood and shell are natural materials that can fade or weather over time.
- Handle the shell discs gently, as they are thin and can chip if knocked.
