Somnus pure fragrance oil is supplied undiluted in a 500ml bottle, made for scenting a room rather than the skin. The name is borrowed from Roman mythology, and the scent is built to be soft and calm rather than bright or sharp.
Symbolism
In Roman mythology, Somnus was the god of sleep, called on at the close of the day when rest was needed. Many people choose a scent with a name like this for an evening wind-down ritual, lighting it as part of settling a room before bed rather than for any promised effect.
How to use
- A few drops in an oil burner over a tea light as part of an evening routine
- Use a heat-resistant burner and never leave a burning flame unattended, and extinguish it before sleep
- Add to candle wax or soap base during making, to the maker's own recipe
- A drop or two refreshes potpourri that has faded
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
