Leaf-shaped pieces in a mix of rainbow colours hang from a driftwood frame in this large wind chime, strung with raffia cord and pinewood beads. It is handmade in Indonesia and measures approximately 46 x 30 cm, the largest of the leaf-shaped chimes in this range.
Symbolism
Leaves are often read as a symbol of growth and renewal, and a multicoloured design like this one is chosen as much for its cheerful look as for any deeper meaning. As with other wind chimes, many people hang it near a door or window in the belief that its sound helps move stagnant energy out of a room.
How to use
- Hang outdoors on a porch, pergola or garden branch, or indoors near a window that opens.
- Choose a spot away from constant strong sun and heavy rain, since driftwood is a natural material that can weather over time.
- Untangle the cords gently by hand after unpacking.
