Ganesh is one of the most widely recognised figures in Hindu iconography, and this bowl puts that image front and centre rather than as a small accent. This Large Ganesh Singing Bowl is cast in brass at 11cm across, sized to sit comfortably on a desk, altar or bookshelf.
Symbolism
Ganesh, the elephant-headed deity, is revered in Hindu tradition as the remover of obstacles and a patron of beginnings, often invoked before starting something new. Featuring him on a singing bowl links that tradition of a fresh start with the meditative use of the bowl itself.
How to use
- Place the bowl on a flat, stable surface or a supporting cushion.
- Circle a wooden striker steadily around the rim to build a sustained tone, or tap once for a single note.
