Printed by hand in black and white, this piece can be used as a lightweight bedspread for a double bed or hung on the wall as a large tapestry, depending on the space. It measures approximately 230 cm by 200 cm and is made from 100% cotton in India, with the hand-printing process meaning small variations can appear from piece to piece.
Symbolism
The dreamcatcher design originates in Native American tradition, particularly among Ojibwe communities, where it was traditionally believed to filter out bad dreams and let good ones pass through to the sleeper. As a wall hanging or bedspread, it is widely used today as a decorative nod to that tradition rather than a ceremonial object.
