You clear a small space on the table, open a drawstring pouch, and let the stones tumble out for a moment of quiet reflection. This set is carved from yellow aventurine, a warm golden stone with a faint sparkle from tiny mineral flecks scattered through its surface.
Symbolism
The origins of runes remain uncertain, though some theories date their first use to between 2000 BC and 100 AD, among tribes such as the Goths and other Germanic peoples who used the symbols for writing and guidance. That old habit of drawing a symbol for reflection continues informally in how people use rune sets today.
