This candle holder takes a notably low, flat form, with a single glass well set into a compact piece of natural Gamal wood made in Bali. Its shallow height sets it apart from the taller single holder elsewhere in the range, giving it a quieter, more understated presence on a table. The glass was melted directly onto the wood while hot, so it follows the exact contour of that particular root.

Symbolism

Balinese makers see a low, close-to-the-surface form like this as letting the candlelight sit close to the table itself, rather than raised above it. Many people choose a flatter holder specifically for a quieter, more ambient glow rather than a more prominent centrepiece.
