Flower of life -laulukulhosarja, mukana mallinuija ja tyyny

Set the bowl down on its cushion before you begin, so it rests steady while you play. Circle the wooden end of the mallet around the rim for a sustained tone, or tap the padded end against the side for a single soft note.

Spiritual meaning

The flower of life is a geometric pattern traced onto the bowl, made of overlapping circles that many traditions read as a symbol of interconnection and the underlying pattern of creation. Singing bowls themselves are a type of bell that rests bottom-down rather than hanging, and their sides and rim vibrate to produce sound rather than a struck clapper. Many people use them to settle the mind at the start or end of meditation.

How to use

• Rest the bowl on the included cushion for stability
• Circle the wooden end of the mallet slowly around the outer rim
