The Hati-Hati Angel Magic Box - Friendship is a hand-carved figure in Suar wood, made in mountain villages in Indonesia, where this sustainable hardwood has long been shaped into decorative and sacred pieces. Standing around 14 cm tall, the angel cradles a small heart in its hands and hides a compartment inside its hollow body.
Symbolism
The word 'hati-hati' is Indonesian for 'take care' or 'be careful', and the figure is traditionally read as a reminder to look after both our own heart and the people we hold close. This piece carries the theme of friendship, with its cradled heart standing for the bond and warmth shared between friends.
