Warming a blend on a cold afternoon, a single drop of Cinnamon oil brings an intense, warm, spicy-sweet scent into the room, similar to the smell of baking, though far more concentrated. Steam-distilled from the bark of Cinnamomum verum grown in Sri Lanka, true Ceylon cinnamon has been part of the spice trade since antiquity.
Energetic properties
Cinnamon bark has been traded between Sri Lanka, the Middle East and Europe for thousands of years, historically counted among the most valuable spices in the world. In many folk traditions it is linked to warmth, abundance and festive gatherings, and today it is used sparingly in diffuser blends for its rich, spicy character.
How to use
- Use very sparingly, one drop at most, in a diffuser blend.
- Dilute thoroughly in a carrier oil before any skin contact, as bark oils can irritate; patch test first.
- Do not ingest, and keep well away from children and pets.
- Check with a doctor before use in pregnancy.
